Our gracious host and, without a doubt (at least by us), the best railroad museum in the
Rockies. Please visit them for all of your book and video needs, as proceeds go to fund
restoration projects for the Museum's collection.

Platte Valley Trolley
Denver Rail Heritage Society
The Platte Valley Trolley operates an open siteseeing trolley along the the South Platte River
from 15th Street south to Decatur. Visit their website for fares and schedules.

Forney Museum

The Forney Transportation Museum features antique cars, buggies, bicycles, motorcycles,
rare and exotic vehicles...and of course, trains...including the world's largest steam
locomotive, a Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy locomotive.

Denver O Scale Club
Denver O Scale Club

Located in the basement of Denver's Union Station, the Denver Society of Model Railroaders
is the oldest model train club in Denver (founded 1933). The club is operated for visitors
the last Friday evening of every month.

Platte Valley & Western Model RR Club
Platte Valley & Western Model Railroad Club

Located in the basement of Denver's Union Station, adjacent to the Denver O Scale Club, the
HO scale PV&WRR Club is open Tuesday and Friday evenings from 7-10 PM. The club is operated
for visitors the last Friday evening of every month.

The Foundation owns at least nine PCC-style streetcars as well as leasing Fort Collins
Birney streetcar 22 and owning an ex-Colorado Springs streetcar body. Both the historic
cars are undergoing restoration and one of the PCCs operates on a 600' test track
equipped with overhead wire.

Georgetown Loop Railroad

Ride a steam-powered narrow gauge train over the famous Devil's Gate Bridge on Colorado's
historic Georgetown Loop Railroad, one of the most famous scenic lines in the West.

Royal Gorge Route

This is one of the most spectacular rides in the entire country. Travel through the Royal Gorge
of the Arkansas River and marvel at the scenery as you pass more than a thousand feet beneath
the World's highest suspension bridge.

Ride the Ski Train to Winter Park! Both winter and summer trips are run. The scenery
alone is worth the trip. A real passenger train in the heart of Colorado's Rockies.

RTD Light Rail

RTD now operates nearly 35 miles of light rail system from 30th & Welton through Downtown
and south via its southwest corridor alongside the BNSF/UP Joint Line to Littleton, and to the southern and
southeastern parts of the Denver Metro area along the I-25 and I-225 corridors.

Colorado Live Steamers
Colorado Live Steamers
The Colorado Live Steamers is a non-profit organization of people interested in building
and operating large scale model railroad equipment. They are located on approximately 120 acres
in Byers, CO, about 40 miles east of Denver. To date they have laid approximately 3,200 feet
of track and have built a 102' wooden bridge which completes the first loop called the Johnson Loop.

Leadville, Colorado & Southern Railroad

Originating in "the highest incorporated city in North America," the LC&S takes passengers along
the old Denver, South Park & Pacific and Colorado & Southern lines to the Continental Divide.

Cripple Creek & Victor Railroad

The area around Cripple Creek was the inspiration for some of the Club's scenery.

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad

Durango & Silverton Railroad

The Durango & Silverton trains take you through some of Colorado's most beautiful scenery. It is well worth the time for a visit.

Ride an original Fort Collins Birney streetcar on the reconstrucuted route that this car once served.

Travel to the top of 14,300 foot Pike's Peak in a cog train. On a clear day you can see all the way to Kansas!
